Wallows’ “OK” Gets A Makeover - Review

Written by Emily Lutz

Originally released in March of 2020, “OK” was the first track that indie band Wallows released after their debut album “Nothing Happens.” In typical Wallows fashion, this song was nothing less than amazing, revolving around having doubts and concerns in a relationship.

On February 5th, the band released a new remix that features Remi Wolf and Solomonophonic. Between this track and the trio’s hit song “Are You Bored Yet?” featuring Clairo, they’ve proved that no matter who they collaborate with, they’ll create something we’re dying to hear.

The “OK” remix is made to be played at full volume on a beach day, taking us back to summer as each day gets colder. Like Harry Styles’ “Fine Line”, we have no doubt that this will become a radio anthem when the weather gets warmer, despite being a winter release.

Adding Remi Wolf and Solomonophonic was a genius move. With a tone that makes you feel like you’re in a “That’s 70s Show“ transition scene and outstanding vocals from Wolf, this track will definitely remind you that you’re the main character of your life.

Wolf’s verse includes the lyrics, “‘Cause the consequences are dire / I can’t help the fact that I’m lying / When I say that I love myself / More than you or anybody else.” This section shows off everything she can bring to the table so well, and makes me excited to hear more from her.

You can find both the original and updated versions of “OK” anywhere you stream music, and you can up to date with all the artists on this track on social media: @WallowsMusic, @RemiWolf, and @Solomonophonic. Let us know your thoughts on this remix by tweeting us @lgndsoftmrw!
