You may know Tyler Posey from his impressive acting resume, but he’s also heavily involved in the pop-punk scene. His musical projects date back to 2012, and currently, he's the lead singer and guitarist for Five North.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Posey decided to start releasing solo material. His new single “Shut Up” is the first of many to come.
This three-minute effort features vocals from alternative artist Phem and well-renowned Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker. What starts off as a ballad turns into what could be the next summer anthem.
Behind the catchy pop-punk beat lies lyrics on the more severe side. This track captures the feeling of wishing someone would stop talking because their words make the situation at hand even more complicated.
Phem and Posey’s contrasting vocals truly shine in this release. The mix of Phem's light tone and Posey’s heavy punk-influenced breakdowns are brought together by Barker’s rhythms.
These three seem like an odd trio, but everything works perfectly. If you're a fan of older Blink 182 albums, this song should be right up your alley!
“Shut Up” is available to stream now on all platforms, and you can keep up with Tyler Posey on Twitter @TylerGPosey. Be sure to tweet us @lgndsoftmrw and let us know what you think of this track!
