"Tunnel Vision"- Movements Review

Written by: Lyric Beyerl

Southern California-based alternative band Movements are back again with the newest release of their song, "Tunnel Vision", off of their second album "No Good Left To Give" coming out September 18th. The track follows the same dark and moody vibe as the record’s previous releases, "Don’t Give Up Your Ghost" and "Skin To Skin. "

Vocalist Patrick Miranda commented on the song saying “Tunnel Vision, is one of the darkest tracks I’ve ever written. It’s about grappling with the reality of suicide and finding yourself fantasizing about your own funeral.”

I couldn’t agree more, the song is indeed dark, it’s safe to say that this is Movements' grittiest track yet. “How many attendants and what would they mention? Would it all end with a quiet procession? I get so invested in writing the end,” clearly tells that story; imagining your own funeral and your friendship with death.

It’s all too real of a feeling and the band has done quite the job in relaying that hopeless feeling. The harsh riffs conflicts with the tumultuous aura as Patrick gives a chilling performance varying between soft-spoken words and screams.

"Tunnel Vision" is available to stream wherever you listen to music and you can keep up with Movements by following them on Twitter @movementsCA. Their new album, "No Good Left to Give" is due out on September 18th and can be preordered on their website including vinyl, shirts, hoodies, flags, and more; look out for a full review of that album coming soon as well!
