Following the recent release of their single “All We Could Have Been” earlier this year, Colorado-based band Suitable Miss are back with two more new singles, titled “Thought Of You” and “Pass Me By.”
An unforgettable lead guitar riff leads the intro, followed by energetic drums and guitar shortly after. The melodies in the verses are very catchy, the pre-chorus brings a more emotional vocal performance, and the same can be said about the backing vocals in the memorable chorus. The instrumentals, which are showcased a lot more during the second verse, bring a ton of energy throughout the song, and the guitars in the bridge are as catchy as those that open the song. The lyrics (such as “just let me go/I’m better on my own”) discuss toxic relationships and send a positive message to the listener about cutting toxicity and negativity out of your life and moving forward.
“Pass Me By” is the more recent of the two singles, and starts off with even more catchy instrumentation, which continues all throughout the rest of the track. The melodies are equally as catchy, especially in the verses and pre-choruses. The drums really stand out after the second chorus, as the song leads up to its breakdown, which showcases some easycore influences within the band’s sound and contains some very memorable lead guitar parts that help emphasize that section of the song before the final chorus kicks in.
From the powerful messages and memorable performances, “Thought Of You” and “Pass Me By” are both more great singles from Suitable Miss.
