The Ones You Forgot are Sure to be Remembered After New Single - "Desensitized" Review

Written by Hannah Clough

Brick, New Jersey natives The Ones You Forgot are creeping their way up the pop-

rock food chain with their latest release, "Desensitized." This track has such a softer

opening but quickly morphs into a killer anthem touching on themes of hiding

emotions.

Vocalist Jenna Bruno is a breath of fresh air in this track; her voice carries the

lyrics profoundly and makes the single more enticing. You can hear the inspiration from bands like State Champs, We Are The In Crowd, and All Time Low in the song, proving that they can hang with the big dogs in pop-punk.

Most of us are no strangers to hiding behind a mask (quite literally nowadays). Still,

figuratively we hide our expressions of hurt and defeat, instead showing the

world a smiling face.

That is the point this group is trying to convey, along with the fact that it's okay to feel disconnected from everyone and everything. Better days are coming; not all of them have to be bleak and gray.

This release is reminiscent of one of those better days, the rhythm and overall vibe will stand out in a live setting and is an immediate mood booster. It packs a heavy punch and shows this is only the beginning for them.

Everything about this track fits like the last piece of a puzzle. The overall flow is

stunning, and each instrument has its own stand out section, which is one of the

best features of the piece.
