Spark Tease Upcoming LP Release With Two New Singles - “Nothing (To You)” and “Supernova” Review

Written by Nolan Primavera

German straight edge hardcore band Spark has released two new singles to promote their upcoming first LP, which will be released this summer. The two songs, titled “Nothing (To You)” and “Supernova” work to bring fans back to the passion of 2000s hardcore filling listeners with energy and nostalgia.

In the first track, “Nothing (To You)”, the punchy bassline and authoritative vocals draw fans in with something that is demanding to be listened to. As the song goes through its ups and downs, the listener is taken on an adrenaline trip with soaring guitar riffs. The song is a fun one, and one that will undoubtedly translate well to a live setting.

The other song, “Supernova”, is fast-paced and worthy of a circle pit at a small, sweaty gig. It keeps up the energy from the previous song and uses lyrical content to keep listeners engaged and empowered.

The culmination of these two songs is everything fans love about hardcore, in turn setting up great things for the album that is to come. With a new sound so derivative of the hardcore greats of the past, Spark is doing something great, and if you haven't checked them out before, this is a perfect place to start.

You can stream “Nothing (To You)” and “Supernova” wherever you listen to music; you can support the band by picking up some merch via Sunday Drive Records and keeping up with the band on Instagram @SparkStraightEdge.
