Interview by Julia Kender
On August 12th, the Chicago-based group Homesafe released their newest hit titled "Permanent Resolution". Today on August 19th, 2022 they're blessing us with an incredible music video to go along with the track!
When asked about the meaning behind the song, Tyler Albertson [vocalist/bassist] said "It’s about being a fool for someone you love and wanting the best for them, even at your own expense. So really our own experience with that; nothing specifically, just the general idea of that. To me it sounds like a song you listen to at the end of summer, and that in itself is bittersweet."
For a track being released towards the end of summer, it's one to help you close off your summer well!
We also got to talk with Director Mike Rumchaks about his inspiration behind the visuals. When asked he said, "Someone said 'pop art' and I ran with it! The first few years I started making videos I would go line by line and try to make a narrative that paralleled the song. Music videos aren't the best medium for narrative work although it can be done. At this point I trust my gut and if it feels right I keep going."
If you love the notorious pop-punk sound, you need to make sure you check out this track! You don't want to miss it.
