Since the release of their debut single “Between You and I,” in 2017, Pollyanna has put out their debut EP and several different singles. They’re about to return with their second single of 2020, titled “Don’t Stay Don’t Go.”
Hard-hitting instrumentals drive the energetic rhythm of the song’s intro before they step back a bit in the first verse. The catchy guitar riffs accompany an intriguing vocal performance that really gets to shine during that section of the song.
Shortly after, the instrumentals come back in to help build the song up to its huge chorus. That refrain was where the song grabbed my attention even more, as the vocals and instrumentals began to get a lot louder.
The song gets a bit louder in the second verse compared to the first. The bridge is much softer in comparison to the rest of the song, but similarly to the previous sections, the vocals and instrumentals get louder and louder in preparation for the song’s final chorus.
Overall, “Don’t Stay Don’t Go” is an incredible and very impressive single from Pollyanna that makes me eager to hear what the band will create and release in the future.
