'Poets and Ghosts'- Fox Teeth Review

Written by: Jayme Stewart

The New Jersey band Fox Teeth recently released their first EP titled ‘Poets and Ghosts’. The EP has a generally good vibe to it, it sounds very relaxed and soothing but also has lyrics that are very impactful at the same time.

The first track on the EP is titled ‘Strange and Unusual’. This track is just a spoken piece and it opens up the album in a very interesting way. This track really gives the album a cool vibe and makes me excited to hear what else will come after it.

The second track is called ‘Written in Red’. This track has really well written lyrics, they’re very emotional and easy to relate to. This song is heavy hitting and has a bit of a somber sound to it while still being upbeat. This song is a really good listen and one that a lot of people would be able to enjoy.

The third track is titled ‘Anemia (With May)’ which is one of my personal favorites off the album. This is a slower song and the vocals are really good on it. It sounds so calming even though the lyrics are a bit sad, and it all together makes a really good song.

The next track is called ‘My House is Haunted and I Don’t Know Why’. The first thing that caught my attention about this song was the title, it’s so unique and I really love that. The lyrics to this song are really good as well, and I think it is one that would stand out to a lot of listeners. It is relatively catchy and a very good listen.

The fifth track is called ‘Las Vegas Losers’. This song starts off a lot slower, and it helps to vary the sound a little bit which I enjoyed. This song fits into the theme of being quite emotional as well like the other tracks. The lyrics to this song are also well written, and thsi song definitely has more of a focus on the lyrics.

The last track is called Sixtwentythree, which also has a music video out. This song is one of the catchiest from the EP, and I think that it is a great song to end the EP on. The lyrics are so catchy and well written, and the instrumentals sound great throughout the song. This song really shows who they are as a band.

Overall, this EP is very impressive. It is full of well written lyrics, solid instrumentals and this oddly calming but emotional vibe that I really love from an album. Fox Teeth is definitely a band people should keep on their radar!
