Welcome back, Swifties! Taylor is back with her 7th studio album, Lover. We are seeing Taylor coming out of her Reputation darkness with bright colors and songs that reflect her being in love and dealing with some hard life things as well.  Rebirth is a theme on this album, and those who have been following her since the beginning have seen Taylor come out of her shell and always hand us songs that are about her real-life experiences. Lover is no exception to the brand that Taylor Swift has given us since she came onto the scene in 2006.

The album opener I Forgot That You Existed, is an upbeat song but with a message to someone that has betrayed her in the past that she doesn’t even think about them anymore, and I’m sure that we all have someone in our pasts that can make us relate to this song. That’s the best part about Taylor and her songs, she writes songs that are so relatable and that’s how she connects with her fanbase.

The song Lover, which was her last single before the album dropped, is just such a feel-good love song. It’s refreshing to hear a song about Taylor being happy and in love.

The Man, is a shot to anyone who has told her that she couldn’t do something because she’s a female or anyone who has doubted her because she is not a man. This song is one that any woman can really relate to, with lyrics such as "If I was out flashing my dollars. I'd be a b*tch, not a baller. They'd paint me out to be bad, So, it's okay that I'm mad” Ladies, its okay to be mad!

A lot of this album has influences from Taylor’s boyfriend Joe Alwyn, such as London Boy, I Think He Knows, and Paper Rings. All 3 of these songs are absolutely beautiful and we see Taylor ripping away her Reputation and the celebrity drama and coming back to what we have grown to love and know Taylor for, groovy music that makes us want to cry, and dance all simultaneously.

The only song that has a category all its own on this album is Soon, You’ll Get Better, which is a heartbreaking song based on Taylor’s mother’s cancer relapse and the treatment that she is still going through.

Taylor gives us a clapback to her album Red on the last song of the album, titled Daylight. Taylor has always been notorious for doing things like this. The closing out of the song state  “I once believed that love would be burning red/ But it’s golden, like daylight … You’ve gotta step into the daylight and let it go.”

Fans have been going nuts over the album since its release on Friday August 23rd, and we can only hope that a stadium tour next summer follows this release! We are also excited that Taylor is re-recording all of her other albums and re-releasing them next year as well. Taylor is not stopping anytime soon! Lover proves this!
