Looking Back on Fanfare's Newest Single - "Gone" Review

Written by Madison Boyce

Back in February, about two weeks after the release of their previous single “Nothing’s Changed”, Richmond, Virginia's Fanfare released their newest track, titled “Gone.” With this track totaling to about three minutes, Fanfare continues to show why more eyes and ears should be focused on them.

Opening this track is some hard-hitting percussion and fast-paced guitars. Being immediately thrown into this song with this frantic combination sets the mood for the entire track.

Lyrically, this song seems to be about someone who feels like they're too far gone to try to fix themselves. The use of repetition really drives this point home.

Contrasting the previously gloomy lyrics the band provides an optimistic outlook later on with the lines, “We’ll work it out / We’ll find a way / Everything’s gonna be okay.” Passion-filled vocal delivery creates a classic lovable pop-punk sound that is sure to draw fans in.

Towards the end of the track, listeners will be caught off guard with some heavier, screamed vocals. This more aggressive delivery ties the track together, making for a super fun track overall.

"Gone", along with the rest of Fanfare's discography, is available to stream wherever you listen to music; you can support the band by following them on Twitter @FanfareVA and picking up some merch on their online store, including masks with lyrics from this song!
