"Liarliar" - Happy. Review

Written by Emily Lutz

Pop-rock band Happy. have released their newest single, titled “Liarliar”, along with a lyric video that pairs well with the track by visually representing a therapy session. This is the third single, following “Sick is the New Sane” and “A Cure for Wellness,” off of the upcoming album, "Imposter Syndrome."

Personally, I feel like this is the strongest single, both lyrically and vocally, the group has put out thus far. This song really puts into perspective the reality of mental illness.

Although the song seems upsetting from the subject matter, it’s anything but that. On the contrary, I see it more as a song of hope and a warm hug saying “you’re not alone.”

Out of all the lyrics, I believe the ones that pack the biggest punch would be in the chorus. Vocalist “When will I accept that the sickness in me is treatable? / All I gotta do is put in the work and take the pills/ Sounds so easy but I’m tired.” I think those lyrics just resonate very deeply for anyone who has had their own experience struggling with their mental health. If I had to describe this song in one word, it would be “impressive.”

You can stream "Liarliar" wherever you listen to music, and you can support Happy. by pre-ordering a merch bundle on their website, with items ranging from vinyl, to shirts, to hoodies, to socks, to lanyards, to beanies, and so much more. You can also pre-save or pre-order "Imposter Syndrome", out on October 30th, and keep up with the band by following them on Twitter, @bandcalledhappy.
