Indie-pop artist Lauren Sanderson is jumping into a new, fully independent phase of her career with a new single, titled “Hi.”. Originally from the midwest, Sanderson has grown her career exponentially since she first released music in late 2015/early 2016.
Sanderson has quickly become a rising star in the pop scene, connecting with fans through her level of vulnerability and honesty with her lyrics, and has become a beacon of light for those who may be struggling, particularly with their sexuality. She creates a safe space for all of those who may need some guidance wherever they are in life.
The new single features the same vibe as Sanderson’s previous releases, soft, groovy, and packed with smooth, impactful vocals. This is a song that's perfect for the upcoming spring and summer months, to listen to with the sunroof open in a friend’s car.
The lyrics of “Hi.” detail the process of wanting to save someone, but that person not wanting to be saved to begin with. Sanderson details the hardships of wanting that person to open up to her, but them ultimately being so shut off to the world that it is near impossible, which is an indescribably hard situation to be in.
By seeing all the good things about this person but not being able to make them see it themself, Sanderson is between a rock and a hard place throughout the course of this song. She sings, “Let me dig into your soul / I want to feel your skin again”, which sums up the feeling of wanting closeness with someone else but them rejecting you in such a beautiful way.
This song further proves that Lauren Sanderson is a force to be reckoned with, and we can't wait to see what she does next. If you aren't already keeping an eye on this rising star, now is the time to do so!
“Hi.” can be streamed anywhere you listen to music, and you can support Lauren Sanderson by picking up some new merch on her website and following her on Twitter @LaurenSanderson. Make sure to let us know what you thought of “Hi.” on our Twitter as well @lgndsoftmrw!
