Following the release of his self-titled debut EP back in 2018, New Jersey-based musician Idle Wave has released a couple of new singles over the course of 2020 (February’s “Home” and August’s “Wolves”), and now, he has returned with another new track, titled “Stay.”

Idle Wave’s previous two singles from throughout 2020 show him straying from his punk roots and leaning towards more of an emo, indie, and alternative-influenced sound. This new single is no different.

The track is led by softer instrumentals and vocals, all of which bring some catchy composition to the table. The percussion really stands out as it drives the song’s mid-tempo rhythm, particularly in the second-half.

Much like the two other singles that Idle Wave released earlier on in 2020, “Stay” also shows a softer and more simplistic side to his overall sound. However, a lot of the melodies and instrumentals throughout the track are very catchy, and the relaxed and laid-back vibe makes the song easy to listen to, creating a solid new single overall.

“Stay” is available on all streaming platforms, and you can keep up with Idle Wave by following him on Twitter @IdleWaveNJ. If you’ve heard the track, be sure to tweet us @lgndsoftmrw with your thoughts on it!
