"Heartbreak Weather"- Niall Horan Review

Written by: Alicia Dittman

Niall Horan is back and better than ever! On March 13th, 2020, Niall graced us with his sophomore album “Heartbreak Weather,” and it is truly something to behold. Along with Niall’s known for guitar playing, we have more of a band playing on this album. There’s something sexier about this album.

Niall has been teasing fans since last year songs off this new album, his first single “Nice To Meet Ya,” captivated us all. It has groovy dance vibes and definitely was a nice new turn for Niall to take. His previous album “Flicker,” while amazing, had its fair share of ballads. While “Heartbreak Weather,” also has ballads, we have a lot more to it. We see Niall’s vocal range and playful side coming out.

This album really does have a bit of everything in it, from steamy R&B vibes in a couple of songs, to the nice ballads that Horan is known for. This album has a storyline, Horan feels all of the emotions in this album and the listener does as well.

A Lot of the buzz has been around the last track of the album, called “Still.” With lyrics such as “But I’m standing here with you just tryna be honest. If honesty means telling you the truth, well I’m still in love with you.” Proving that Horan is truly the songwriter/artist that we know and love, and he is here to stay.

With Niall being one of the members of the boy band, One Direction, and unpopular opinion, but very underrated within the band itself, it’s nice to see him coming into his own and proving that this is where he belongs and what he is meant to do.
