Former Title Fight bassist Ned Russin is releasing his third album under the moniker Glitterer, titled “Life is Not a Lesson” on February 26th. The second single off the album “Didn’t Want It” and its accompanying lyric video provide a fun, fuzzy look at what we are in store for when the album releases next month.
This track really showcases Russin’s ability to write fun, catchy songs, totally having the potential to be a summertime anthem. The fuzzy, overdriven guitar, bass tones, and minimalist chord progression are complemented by punchy, present drums for a mix that begs to be blasted over car speakers with rolled down windows on a hot day.
Being the first song written for the album, “Didn’t Want It” serves as a sort of blueprint for what might be explored on other tracks. In an interview with new Noise, Russin said “Despite having no road map for how the rest of the songs would turn out, this track established a lot of the qualities that would be further explored as I continued to write”.
With the first two singles being as fun as they are, and Russin’s statement regarding the influence of “Didn’t Want It” on the artistic process of the rest of the album, expectations and excitement are definitely high. Look out for a full review on our site coming next month!
