Over the last several months, Illinois-based pop-punk band Knuckle Puck has been releasing a series of new singles leading up to the release of their upcoming album, “20/20,” which is due to be released on September 18th. This past Friday, the band released the fifth single from this album, titled “Earthquake.”
The song instantly brings catchy instrumentals, and the guitars drive the song’s upbeat rhythm, while still a bit more midtempo in comparison to the other singles, which quickly made it stand out to me upon first listen. Speaking of which, the vocals also really grab your attention as they lead the verses, and during those verses (as well as the pre-choruses), the instrumentals are a bit softer before the very memorable chorus kicks in.
The bridge is softer as well, and the drums help build up that section of the song before it seamlessly transitions into the final chorus. I feel like this song is slightly different from the other singles that have been released so far, and that these differences make this song more unique amongst the other singles.
I think that out of these five singles, this is easily one of my favorites and one of the biggest standouts. Overall, I think that this is a solid new single from Knuckle Puck, and it makes me even more curious about what the remaining tracks on this album will be like and what I can expect from the rest of this album as a whole.
"Earthquake" is available to stream everywhere you listen to music, and you can watch the music video on Knuckle Puck's YouTube channel. Keep an eye out for our review of Knuckle Puck's third full-length record, "20/20", out September 18th!
