"Coffee For Your Head" - This Wild Life Review

Written by Emily Lutz

If you have been on Tik Tok in the last couple of months or have seen Dunkin’ Donuts’ recent commercial, then there’s a good chance you’ve heard the popular chorus of “Death Bed (Coffee For Your Head” by Powfu and Beabadoobee. At the beginning of July, Kevin Jordan of the acoustic duo This Wild Life posted on his own mini cover of the tune on Tik Tok.

From there, many fans went directly to the comment section asking for a full version, and as they say, ask and you shall receive. On August 21st, This Wild Life released their cover titled, “Coffee For Your Head.” With their own ukulele twist, they turned this hit song into something completely (and ironically) comforting.

While the track is about moving on from a break-up and learning to be okay without a certain person, This Wild Life used their special ability to turn a downhearted song into a soothing melody. It’s definitely a power only very few artists can possess.

It's also worth mentioning how they are able to make something that is Hip-Hop/Rap seamlessly a “feel good” track for those into softer music. The band posted on Twitter, “Deathbed (Coffee For Your Head) is a song that just instantly grabbed my attention when I heard these lyrics for the first time. Thought it would be fun to grab the ukulele and put a TWL spin on this track.”

“Coffee For Your Head” is now available anywhere you stream music, so grab a cup of joe and put it on repeat!
