Christian Sparacio Oozes Urban Sunshine on “Open Season”- Review

Written by Richie Oliver

Christian Sparacio does it again! Hot after the release of his cover of Modern English’s “I Melt With You,” Sparacio delivers the upbeat, California sunshine/neo-jazz track titled, “Open Season.”

Greeted by an Amy Winehouse reminiscent opening guitar riff, the listener is slyly introduced to a wonderful trumpet line before Sparacio joins in with his smooth, sultry vocals. Sparacio’s voice leaves the listener with notes of George Ezra and Fleet Foxes, combining for a balanced, warm vocal sound.

This song is a dancer. Upon first listen, one will be compelled to get up and move their bodies. Conveying a mid-2000’s California vibe, Sparacio transports the listener to a poolside bungalow in Rancho Cucamonga.

“Just another muggy evening,” starts the lyrics, making the song relatable to both west coast listeners, New England listeners, and the listeners right outside of the Orlando airport.

The horns excel to new heights in the middle of the song followed by the line, “It’s not open season because you never come around.” With such an upbeat delivery, it’s hard to feel pain in the lyrics, bridging a gap rarely seen in music.

Christian Sparacio’s “Open Season” is a perfect end-of-summer song, helping the listener ease into the woes of fall.

“Open Season” is available on all major streaming platforms. Like what you hear? Make sure to follow Christian Sparcio on Twitter @sparaciomusic.
