Serving as the second single from her upcoming EP "The Longest Year: Part Two", Carobae has released her latest single, “I Don’t Even Care (Pick Me Up),” Following “Ur Ex from College”, the song acts as the second chapter in a series of songs about the trials of your early twenties.
This upbeat bedroom pop tune covers the emotion of falling into a “no fucks given” mentality that can come when facing heavy pressure. This is what makes it such a great anthem for anyone seeking independence in their formative years.
Lyrics like, “Everybody’s telling me it’s reckless / How I’m always making all these messes / But I don’t care” express the feeling of no longer letting outward pressure dictate your actions. She also explores how the uncertainty of relationships and life can be a scary experience, summed up perfectly with the lyrics “I get scared when it gets real.”
Carobae’s strong vocals filled with emotion bring those lyrics to life, accompanied by a quick melody of swift percussion and electronic backings. This creates a thrilling atmosphere that will make any listener want to sing the lyrics at the top of their lungs.
“I Don’t Even Care (Pick Me Up)” can be streamed on all platforms where music is available. If you’d like to directly support Carobae you can check out her official merch as well as keeping up with her on Twitter @carobaesucks!
