There’s always something to be admired when a band takes risks with their sound and steps away from the comfort of their usual genre. It shows immense creativity and flexibility. Bring Me The Horizon is no stranger to genre-bending, and the British band has caught a lot of criticism for it. I, however, think it shows great talent.
The band recently dropped an unannounced 8-song experimental album that includes a track featuring pop sensation Halsey. The song, named “¿”, has an incredibly catchy beat to it that Halsey’s vocals pair with beautifully. It’s something you’ll want to keep on repeat, despite the repetitiveness of the second half of the track. The dark vibes of the track are what’s truly endearing to me and what makes me want to add it to all my playlists.
It is playing it pretty safe to pull in electronic sounds when so much recent pop music includes those influences, but in this song, it feels right. All things considered, it’s a great track that shows BMTH is a force to be reckoned with.
