"Blurry"- Stand Atlantic Review

Written by: Emily Lutz

Just two days short of their sophomore album release, Australian alt rock group Stand Atlantic drops their sixth single titled “Blurry.” Alongside the single, the band released a music video that shows vocalist Bonnie Fraser making her way through a seemingly haunted house, so for those who have been missing the fall season, this one's for you.

Behind the twisted lyrics, this song is all about being in a situation where you know deep down someone isn’t good for you, even though all you want to do is be with them. In the first verse, the lyrics, “Like a botched lobotomy, Losing little parts of me, Because you’re a fever, And I keep losing limbs” provides insight on the pain of a relationship and everything you give up from yourself. However, the lyrics, “You’re my melancholy medicine” and “Could you cut me dirty? ‘Cause I need surgery to keep me blurry” show how just a little bit of good can keep you stuck in a relationship you shouldn’t be in. This track is probably my favorite of all the singles released and is on the top of my list of ones I want to see live when concerts roll around again.

“Blurry” is available now on all streaming services, and be sure to listen to Pink Elephant when it releases tomorrow!
