Beach Bunny is the alt-pop singer-songwriter project and stage name of Lili Trifilio, based out of Chicago. In their newest track, “Good Girls (Don't Get Used”), Beach Bunny sets the record straight when it comes to relationships. If you’re someone who is sick of childish relationships and just wants to dance around, feeling good about yourself, this is the best song you could listen to.
When asked about the new single, Trifilio said, “As a veteran of engaging with emotionally unavailable people, I wanted to create a sassy song that calls out players by talking down to them as if they were children, showing that poor communication skills and mind games are immature. It shifts the blame to the person that was acting disrespectful, instead of myself. The song also hammers home the point that I know my worth; I’m not afraid to call out players on their stupid behavior and I’m not going to tolerate being thrown around emotionally.”
The mix of lyrics, vocals, and instrumentals create a huge sense of empowerment. Beach Bunny has created an anthem for anyone who is sick of emotional abuse and manipulation, and it makes you take back your worth and self-confidence.
“Good Girls (Don’t Get Used)” is the first track off the upcoming EP, “Blame Game” available on January 15th; if you enjoyed the first single, you can preorder the record and other merch on Beach Bunny's online store and keep up with the band by following them on Twitter @BeachBunnyMusic.
