“I was blinded by / Blindsided by / My fragile state of mind,” helps to open Anyone Anyway’s newest single; a mixture of hardcore, metal, and pop-punk that attacks the psyche and barrages the listener with up-to-par vocals and instrumentation. Released on January 12th, this song serves as the perfect introduction to this band for new listeners.
The music video adds a lot to the track as well. Directed by Dimitri Christo and filmed at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Providence, RI, the band performs the song with gusto, making every moment count.
The shot direction and editing for the video are to be praised as well. Every second of footage did not go to waste.
Overlapping different clips and shots create a sense of urgency in production. My mind was pulled in every direction when it came to the editing.
That pulling is what the song needs. Chaotic spasms of light and sound make this video an accurate representation of what it is to see Anyone Anyway live, creating that crazy atmosphere.
