“Tell Me You Know” was not expected to be Good Kid’s next acoustic performance, as it wasn’t on their second EP, “Good Kid 2”. However, it was greatly appreciated by fans and provided a fun, chilled-out version of the song.
The band has been reimagining their songs into softer renditions for a while now, and it's always so much fun to listen to. Sometimes it’s more heavy-handed than others, but regardless it’s a great way for fans to hear the band in a different way.
Even though “Tell Me You Know” was released back in 2018, the acoustic video breathes new life into the fan-favorite. Seeing the band in such an intimate setting and hearing them so stripped-down really is a fully immersive experience.
Since bands can’t do much together during the COVID-19 pandemic, these videos are like a breath of fresh air. It’s giving fans something to look forward to, keeping them talking, and most importantly, listening.
The last thing that’s so fun about these videos is watching the band members interact together in such a close space. It’s interesting to watch their dynamics while performing this acoustic set and how it differs from their other live performances and fills that void left by the lack of live music for the last year or so.
