With emotive lyrics and rich harmonies, Again In May has released a stunning debut EP titled “Feels Like Home.” Based in Annapolis, Maryland, the group brings in post-hardcore influences as well as sounds reminiscent of acts like Movements and Neck Deep.
The band has begun to establish their sound with singles “Falling Out” and “Losing Color.” The full EP feels like an adventure that never ends.
Opening the release, “Falling Out” launches said adventure. The opening chords and vocals carry the track paired with impassioned lyrics.
Vocalist Liam King brings passionate vocal delivery throughout the EP, complete with visceral lyrical content.
Next up is “Waves”, a super catchy track that brings the same energy as “Falling Out” but presents Again In May’s pop-punk style. In contrast, the next track “Empty Room” underlines the band's post-hardcore influence, opening with a ferocious guitar riff.
“Losing Color” follows the same path, bringing quick tempos and heavy instrumentals to the table. The chorus is filled with profound lyrics and an array of rhythms through various instruments.
“Reverie” closes the EP, an acoustic ballad bringing a welcome change of pace. The track opens beautifully with a soft guitar and angelic vocals, telling the story of wanting to relive moments with someone you've lost.
As a whole, Again In May’s debut EP is a breathtaking introduction to the group’s dynamic and influence. Each song pulls you in and never wants to let go.
