Chicago-based indie duo OK Cool recently dropped their sophomore EP “Surrealist”, the band's longest project to date, having only released a three-song EP and a few singles prior to it. The release clocks in at just over 11 minutes, and with the longest song being less than three and a half minutes, the EP really leaves you wanting more.
What really stands out on this EP is the quality of songwriting and production. The production is crisp and really elevates the already amazing music that’s present.
The songs themselves are really catchy, and my only real complaint when it comes to them is that I wish they were longer, which really goes to show what a great job the band did crafting this EP. While short, OK Cool really makes the most of the time they have and every second of this release is a blast to listen to.
As a whole, OK Cool’s latest EP is extremely impressive and shows a ton of promise. Their talent and hard work is evident on this EP, with it being a very polished, complete feeling project.
"Surrealist" is available to stream wherever you listen to music, and you can keep up with OK Cool by following them on Twitter @OKCoolBand. After you've listened to this EP, feel free to share your thoughts on it with us by tweeting us @lgndsoftmrw!
